Gaurav is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from the Department of Biotechnology, National Institute of Technology Durgapur, Durgapur, West Bengal, Bharat. He obtained his master’s degree in Microbiology from Bidhanangar College, Salt Lake, Kolkata, Bharat, and bachelor’s degree in Microbiology (H) from the University of Calcutta. His area of interest includes Immunology, Virology, Nanotechnology, Microbiology, Ayurveda, and Medical Microbiology.

Gaurav’s research uses bacterial application as a research method to investigate how agricultural wastes can be converted into wealth. His investigation focuses on the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass from agricultural waste into valuables. This research has a multidisciplinary approach encompassing nanotechnology, immunology, waste management, enzymology. He is a member of the Think India (forum for Students and faculties of Premium Institutes of India) and worked for various NGOs locally.
