Dr. Indranill Basu Ray, Chairman, AAYM

Dr. Basu Ray has two primary sets of research interests. He is involved in clinical research in cardiac electrophysiology which includes atrial fibrillation, VT ablation, and cryptogenic stroke. Dr. Basu Ray has been meditating since the age of six. His research centers on the use of meditation and yoga in modern medicine, particularly heart diseases. He is also one of the renowned cardiologists chosen by the American Heart Association to write the world’s first scientific statement on the use of meditation in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. He has also been invited to present at grand rounds at many medical schools in the United States and abroad.  Dr. Basu Ray is the author of numerous research articles and book chapters in cardiology. He is also the Editor in Chief for Cardiac Electrophysiology for Stat Pearl.

He was a Regional Director of national AAPI, South East Central Section (two terms) 2004-2006. He chaired the Ethics and Grievances Committee of AAPI 2011-2012 and AAPI Journal Resource Committee 2012-2013 and co-chaired the Website committee from 2012-2013.  In addition to this he has been a member of various other committees for the AAPI namely AAPI Alumni Committee 2010-2012, AAPI Membership Committee 2018-2019, AAPI Bylaws Committee 2017-2019, AAPI IT committee 2006-2006, AAPI Ethics and grievances Committee 2008-2010, By-Laws committee 2017-2018, AAPI membership committee 2018-2019 AAPI Charitable foundation 2008-2011.

In addition, he has been President of his own specialty organizations namely Indian American Urological Association (IAUA) 2008-2009 and Society of Indian American Clinical Urologists (SIACU).He is the Founder and organizer of the most popular events at AAPI Convention – “AAPI’s Got Talent” & “Mehfil”.He was the organizer and CME Chair for pre AAPI Global Summit 2011 in Odisha, India. Recently he Chaired the Urology Forum at the AAPI Global Health Summit, Kolkata 2017 and in Hyderabad, 2019.He is at present serving as an elected member of the Board of Trustees AAPI, 2017-2020 as it’s vice chair.

 

Shri Gaurav Singh, VC-Organization , AAYM

Gaurav is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from the Department of Biotechnology, National Institute of Technology Durgapur, Durgapur, West Bengal, Bharat. He obtained his master’s degree in Microbiology from Bidhanangar College, Salt Lake, Kolkata, Bharat, and bachelor’s degree in Microbiology (H) from the University of Calcutta. His area of interest includes Immunology, Virology, Nanotechnology, Microbiology, Ayurveda, and Medical Microbiology.

Gaurav’s research uses bacterial application as a research method to investigate how agricultural wastes can be converted into wealth. His investigation focuses on the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass from agricultural waste into valuables. This research has a multidisciplinary approach encompassing nanotechnology, immunology, waste management, enzymology. He is a member of the Think India (forum for Students and faculties of Premium Institutes of India) and worked for various NGOs locally.
